Palynological analyses of the two Labrador Shelf wells, Petro-Canada et al. Roberval C-02 and Total Eastcan et al. Roberval K-92, offshore Newfoundland and Labrador / G.L. Williams.: M183-2/8183E-PDF
"Two closely adjacent wells, Roberval K-92 and Roberval C-02, were drilled during the late 1970s and early 1980s in the Hopedale Basin on the Labrador Shelf. The two wells are only about 1800 metres apart, providing an ideal example of replicate sections and the opportunity to test the consistency of the palynomorph events recognized in other wells in the Late Cretaceous and Cenozoic of the region. The palynomorphs studied included fossil dinoflagellate cysts (dinocysts), miospores and acritarchs. Both wells encountered Upper Cretaceous and Cenozoic rocks. However, Lower Cretaceous and Santonian sections in the former well are absent in the latter. In the Tertiary, there is considerable variation in assemblages in the in the two wells. Roberval K-92 was drilled to test the hydrocarbon potential of Paleozoic dolomites, which had proved so productive at the nearby Gudrid H-55 well. But in the former wells, these rocks were water-bearing"--Summary provided by publisher.
